I also would rather solder wick in almost every case of simple board repair. The solder suckers never worked that great for me.

Guys,
What are your thoughts on Siemens Step 7 software? Any thoughts on it would be appreciated. I was looking at Siemens PLC's as an option for some equipment I am building but I'm not sold on them as of yet.

I'm looking for a general consensus on Step 7 software, I guess...

Thanks again!

OK guys,
Looking for some advice here. What is the best value PLC? I'm not talking the cheapest PLC, I'm talking best value for the money. I have to buy about 5 PLC's for a customer order on a small piece of equipment, so before i commit, I thought I'd see what others in the field think.

I was looking at Automation Direct for a low cost PLC, but I'm not sure I trust their equipment. Any thoughts on best value PLC's?

Thanks!

Excuse me if I sound inexperienced, but I have been looking for some type of documented method.

What is the Best Way to Test a 3 Pole Contactor?

Is there a set pattern to follow or is replacement/process of elimination the best form of troubleshooting? I know replacing with a known good contactor would rule it out but I am hoping for something more than that. Sometimes I would like to test a 3 pole contactor with the power on and sometimes I can shut the machine down.
