Sorry it took me a while to get back to this. Some of the brands I found were Proxxon, Klein, Bondhus, and Wiha. Any thoughts on:

  • cheap Chinese electrical screwdrivers
  • cheap Proxxon electrical screwdrivers
  • cheap Klein electrical screwdrivers
  • cheap Bondhus electrical screwdrivers
  • cheap Wiha electrical screwdrivers

I think the problem may have been a loose set screw in the coupling for the encoder after all. I thought I would check the coupling just to be on the safe safe and it was a little loose. I restarted the motor and haven't had the missing pulse alarm yet. So I am going ot keep my fingers crossed that it was that simple.

Some Chinese wrenches are getting better. It's just the simple fact that American names being attached to hand tools made in China and other countries that is unsettling and deliberately confusing. it's wrong.

Overall Gear Wrench products are still a solid investment, correct?

Mechanical and More / Cheap Mechanics Tools
September 29, 2016, 09:21:AM
Any advice on cheap mechanics tools? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest mechanics tools out there, I'm looking for a good value. In other words, are there brands of cheap mechanics tools that hold up well considering how much they cost. Looking forward to your thoughts...

The Maintenance Saloon / Cheap Electrical Screwdrivers

What do you guys think about cheap electrical screwdrivers? Should I go big and spend some good money or would cheap electrical screwdrivers suffice? I'm looking to be safe when it comes to electrical insulation, but I'd rather not spend more than I have to.

September 29, 2016, 09:06:AM
What does MISSING PULSE mean? I've got an alarm on an obsolete Parker motor drive. I was thinking it was an encoder pulse but I'm not positive. any thoughts on troubleshooting a missing pulse alarm?

Thank you!

Is there a cheap cross reference for Bussman 170M5009 fuses?

Looking for an alternative fuse for this particular semiconductor fuse and can't seem to find one. The 170M Bussman fuse has a long lead time.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
